"Our most consistent pairing." —John Tortorella

The futures of defensemen Nick Seeler and Sean Walker are still hanging in the balance as the Mar. 8 trade deadline draws closer.

The Flyers have been reported to being open to trading Seeler and Walker, but as a recent report from Elliotte Friedman suggested, the front office is still in negotiation talks for both players.

In Walker's case, which is thought to be making more progress than Seeler's at the moment, the biggest issue looks to be a difference in term length for his contract—four years versus five years.

The disagreements in Seeler's deal look concern his average annual value (AAV), but he has been receiving plenty of praise from head coach John Tortorella about his competitiveness, willingness to put his body on the line for the defense, and how he's never afraid to defend his teammates on the ice. Seeler himself has even gone on the record to express his desire to remain a Flyer.

While there have yet to be any concrete announcements made regarding where Seeler and Walker will end up this season, all signs are pointing to the organization and players both wanting the Flyers' "most consistent [defensive] pairing" to stay in Philadelphia.
