In 41 games split between the Abbotsford Canucks and Milwaukee Admirals, he posted three goals, 19 points, and a plus-15 rating. He also had one goal and three points in 10 playoff games for the Admirals this spring.

Friedman also appeared in five games this season with the Vancouver Canucks, posting zero points, six hits, 10 penalty minutes, and a minus-4 rating.

Friedman was selected by the Flyers with the 86th overall pick of the 2014 NHL Entry Draft. In three seasons with the Flyers from 2018-19 to 2020-21, he recorded one assist, 14 hits, and a minus-3 rating in 11 contests. His time with the Flyers ended when he was claimed off waivers by the Pittsburgh Penguins on Feb. 24, 2021.
