Former Philadelphia Flyers forward Nick Cousins is going to miss a good amount of time.
According to Postmedia's Bruce Garrioch, Cousins will be out for the next six to eight weeks due to a knee injury.
Cousins' injury occurred during the Ottawa Senators' Jan. 25 matchup against the Toronto Maple Leafs after a knee-on-knee collision with Maple Leafs forward Jacob Quillan. This forced Cousins to miss the Senators' most recent contest against the Utah Hockey Club as well.
Cousins, 31, has five goals, 13 points, and a minus-2 rating in 47 games this season with the Senators. He has also given them plenty of bite, as his 80 hits this campaign effectively demonstrate.
Cousins began his NHL career with the Flyers after being selected by the Metropolitan Division club with the 68th overall pick of the 2011 NHL Entry Draft. In 107 games as a Flyer over three seasons, he had 12 goals, 27 points, and 112 hits.
