This former Philadelphia Flyers forward has found his new home.
Former Philadelphia Flyers forward Nick Cousins has found his new home, signing a one-year, $800,000 contract with the Ottawa Senators. Daily Faceoff's Frank Seravalli was the first to report the move.
Cousins appeared in 69 games last season for the Florida Panthers, recording seven goals, eight assists, and a plus-1 rating. While the Belleville, Ontario's offense was down, he was still impactful with his physicality, posting 64 penalty minutes and 130 hits on the campaign.
Cousins also had one assist and 20 penalty minutes in 12 playoff games for the Panthers this spring.
With this Cousins signing, the Senators have added a physical forward who can play both down the middle and on the wing to their depth. Because of this, he should find a home on the Senators' fourth line in 2024-25.
Cousins was drafted by the Flyers with the 68th overall pick of the 2011 NHL Entry Draft. In 107 games with the Flyers from 2014-15 to 2016-17, he had 12 goals, 27 points, and 112 hits.
In 592 career NHL games over 10 seasons split between the Flyers, Arizona Coyotes, Montreal Canadiens, Vegas Golden Knights, Nashville Predators, and Panthers, Cousins has 71 goals and 180 points. From here, it will be interesting to see how much he improves upon these career stats with the Sens.
