Former Philadelphia Flyers forward Sam Gagner has signed a professional tryout (PTO) with the Belleville Senators of the American Hockey League (AHL).
Gagner, 35, just served as Canada's captain at the Spengler Cup. Now, he is getting another shot at the AHL level after landing this PTO with Belleville.
Gagner spent the 2023-24 season with the Edmonton Oilers. In 28 games with the Pacific Division club, he had five goals, 10 points, and a minus-2 rating. He also had three goals and nine points in 15 games with their AHL affiliate, the Bakersfield Condors.
Gagner spent the 2015-16 season as a member of the Flyers. In 53 games with Philly that season, he had eight goals, eight assists, and a plus-4 rating.

Gagner will now look to impress during his PTO with Belleville from here. If he does, he could grab the attention of the Ottawa Senators.
