The Philadelphia Flyers need offensive help. While they aren't in a terrible position standings-wise, getting a boost to the forward group should be on the team's radar.

Patrick Kane is still unsigned, although he is rumored to be returning very soon. His offensive creativity could give the Flyers a boost, improve their power play while also potentially causing friction with head coach John Tortorella.
Even though he is nearing the end of his career Kane still has offense left to give. Last year he contributed 57 points in 73 games split between the Chicago Blackhawks and the New York Rangers.
He is a point per game player over his entire career. He has a wicked shot and a dangerous passer. Any team would be extremely lucky to have him.
Kane has been a power play force his entire career. Last year he scored 22 points on the power play. Over his 16-year NHL career he's accumulated 401 points on the man advantage.
With the Flyers having a 10.3% conversion rate, the team could surely use Kane's talent to increase their power play effectiveness.
While Kane has a tremendous amount of offensive skill, he definitely does not have the same level of defensive commitment.

There is a certain level of risk involved with acquiring Kane. There is a strong possibility that if he doesn't meet Tortorella's requirements for defensive play he will be a healthy scratch at some point. Is the risk of having that happen more or less than the reward of his offensive production?
At 35-years old there is a slim-to-none chance that Kane would win a Stanley Cup with the Flyers. That being said, if he wanted to play for a team with minimal travel where he could play top line minutes, there aren't many opportunities like that.
