The Flyers' decision to sign this goalie just keeps looking better with the playoffs here.

The Philadelphia Flyers secured a big 3-0 win over the Pittsburgh Penguins on Monday night. With this victory, the Flyers now have a 2-0 series lead over the Penguins. This is undoubtedly great news for the Flyers, as they have control of the series and are just two wins away from advancing to the second round.

The Flyers certainly should be thanking goaltender Dan Vladar for the position they are in, as he carried them in Game 2 in a major way.

Vladar simply was on fire for the Flyers in Game 2, as he put together a 27-save shutout. With this, he now has a 2-0-0 record, a 1.00 goals-against average, and a .956 save percentage in two playoff games for the Flyers so far this spring.

With how good a start Vladar is having this postseason, it is clear that the Flyers' decision to sign him this past offseason is only looking better. The 28-year-old was one of the main reasons why the Flyers shocked many by getting into the playoffs this year. His stats from the regular season show this, as he had a 29-14-7 record, a .906 save percentage, and a 2.42 goals-against average in 52 games.

The Flyers have been in need of a high-impact goalie for a long time, and Vladar is continuing to be that for them in a big way. Let's see if he can carry them past the Penguins in the first round from here.
