Barkey recorded a goal and an assist in the win, while Bonk got an assist.
The Knights have been dominating their postseason, bulldozing through the OHL playoffs to become league champions, and are continuing that successful streak in the Memorial Cup, sitting first in the standings after the conclusion of the round robin play.
"This is the stuff you kind of grew up dreaming of, you know?" Barkey said during postgame media. "Ever since I got to London when I was 16, this is kind of the end goal that they've always strived for."
Both players have been significant contributors to the Knights' dominance, with Bonk recording 67 points in 60 games and being hailed as one of the best defensemen in junior hockey, and Barkey getting 102 points in 64 games, bucking the doubts surrounding his skills because of his smaller stature.
While Bonk and Barkey are expected to play one more year with the Knights (and, as Flyers GM Danny Briere stated, hopefully Canada's junior team), they have both signed entry-level contracts and have fans hotly anticipating their arrival in Philadelphia.
The Knights' opponent is still TBD, but the final will be played on June 2 at 7:30 p.m.
