The Philadelphia Flyers are a different kind of rebuilding team.

Eric Hartline-USA TODAY Sports - Here's Why the Flyers Won't Be Easy to Trade With

If you've been paying attention to the NHL at all this year you know that the Pittsburgh Penguins are struggling - as are the Edmonton Oilers. You may also know that the Vancouver Canucks, Los Angeles Kings and New York Rangers are all in the top echelon of the league.

But if you weren't already a fan of the Philadelphia Flyers, you might not know how they are doing. To put it as succinctly as possible, they are doing way better than expected.

Darren Dreger reported that they are willing to listen to offers on players at every position. He added that they are only going to make deals that further build upon a foundation of the future.

Multiple insiders have predicted that Sean Walker will be a trade target for many playoff hopeful teams. Unfortunately for those teams, I don't think it will be easy to pry him loose.

The Flyers are presently second place in the Metropolitan Division. They have been out-working and out-defending most of the teams they come across. Walker has been a big part of that.

They have other players that are doing extremely well too. The ones that are playing a lot are either very young or are veterans who aren't very old. On their blueline Travis Sanheim, Cam York, Rasmus Ristolainen, Nick Seeler and Walker fit into either of these categories.

Similarly, Travis Konecny, Owen Tippett, Ryan Poehling, Sean Couturier and Tyson Foerster fall into either of those categories.

Simply put, if any team wants one of these players it will probably cost an arm & a leg for as long as the Flyers maintain their excellent position in the standings.
