The Philadelphia Flyers have some extra bodies on defense and at least one should be appealing to the Toronto Maple Leafs.

The Philadelphia Flyers are sitting in a pretty decent position in the standings at the beginning of December. With a record of 12-10-2 the Flyers are sitting with 26 points - good for fifth in the Metropolitan Division.
The Washington Capitals and New York Islanders have the same amount of points as them, but have a higher points percentage, so they are higher than the Flyers in the division.

Despite this decent position, the Flyers are in no position to go on a deep cup run. They are still building for the future, including the arrival of Matvei Michkov.
That's why they need to maximize some trades this season in order to gain draft picks to build more towards the future. While Sean Walker has been making headlines - in no small part because of Frank Seravalli featuring him on his trade board this past week - there are some other defenders who should draw the attention of teams.

The Toronto Maple Leafs were rumored to be interested in Nikita Zadorov and Chris Tanev. But they missed out on Zadorov when they couldn't agree on a deal for both.
It was reported that they still wanted to add a defenseman with "edge" to their ranks. It just so happens the Flyers have someone who fits that bill.
Rasmus Ristolainen is a 6-foot-4 208 pound right-handed defenseman. He has seven hits and six blocks in four games - averaging 15:53 in that time.
Over his career he has laid 1754 hits in 686 games. That's just over 2.5 hits per game. That just might be the kind of rugged the Maple Leafs are interested in.
