The Pittsburgh Penguins will continue to be without Bryan Rust who is out on a day-to-day basis with a lower-body injury.
For the third consecutive game, the Pittsburgh Penguins will be without forward Bryan Rust who continues to deal with a lower-body injury.
Rust has been absent from the lineup since their 3-0 win over the Vegas Golden Knights.
In the practice following that game, Rust skated briefly ahead of everyone else, but quickly departed for evaluation.
All at once, multiple Penguins were taken out of the lineup due to injury, and Rust has been the most noticeable absence.
Rust was off to a great start to the season with 16 points (9G-7A) in 16 games before suffering his injury.
Drew O’Connor has been filling in in Rust’ spot on the first line alongside Sidney Crosby and Jake Guentzel.
When the injury was initially confirmed for Rust, head coach Mike Sullivan labeled him as day-to-day.
Rust has made progress even taking part in the morning skate ahead of the contest against the Buffalo Sabres.
