There are a lot of former Pittsburgh Penguins partaking in the Stanley Cup playoffs right now.

And one of them just had a monster night in Dallas.

Dallas Stars forward Mikael Granlund registered a hat trick - accounting for all three of the Stars' goals - en route to a 3-1 Game 4 victory over the Winnipeg Jets that also puts the Stars up in the series, 3-1, and makes Thursday's game in Winnipeg do-or-die for the Jets.

Granlund - who will become an unrestricted free agent on Jul. 1 if not extended by the Stars - was dealt to the Penguins at the 2023 trade deadline from the Nashville Predators for a second-round pick. Pittsburgh failed to qualify for the postseason for the first time in 17 years that season, and Granlund registered just one goal and five points in 21 post-deadline games for the Penguins.

He was dealt to the San Jose Sharks as part of the blockbuster trade that brought Erik Karlsson to Pittsburgh in the summer of 2023, and at this season's deadline, he was traded to Dallas after putting up 15 goals and 45 points in 52 games with the Sharks.

Granlund is now fifth in team playoff scoring for the Stars with four goals and seven points in 11 postseason games.
