The Pittsburgh Penguins needed both goalies, but they notched their second straight win.

Scores have been reset to 0-0 and the Pittsburgh Penguins looked to carry the momentum they gained after a thumping of the San Jose Sharks.

The Penguins traveled to Anaheim to face the Ducks for the second and final time this season, and were looking for a bit of revenge.

In their last meeting, the Ducks came out victorious after a last-second short handed goal and entered this contest with a league-long six-game winning streak.

This time around, the game struggled to find a rhythm through the first few minutes with numerous whistles from both sides of the ice.

As the first period finally started to find some groove, Radim Zohorna beat John Gibson to give the Penguins a 1-0 lead.

A shot from Lars Eller was blocked but the puck found a way to Zohorna who just pushed it towards the net, and it banked its way into the cage.

Zohorna’s tally would be the only goal of the opening period, giving the Penguins the advantage heading into the first intermission.

The entire second period flew by without a goal from either team, but Penguins goalie Tristan Jarry left the ice early after a collision with a Ducks player.

Adam Henrique’s hip caught Jarry up high and forced his head and neck to snap quite a bit.

The contact forced Jarry’s mask loose just before a puck found its way in on Jarry; backup goalie Magnus Hellberg entered the game to finish the second frame.

Heading into the third period, it was Hellberg who led the Penguins onto the ice, putting an end to Jarry’s night.

More than half way through the third frame, the Ducks started building some good momentum and gained a few solid scoring opportunities.

Hellberg stood strong in his relief effort, making numerous big saves in his first 18 minutes of ice time.

The Ducks pulled Gibson to gain the extra man advantage, and at first, it seemed as if Acciari had his first goal with the Penguins.

After an official review, it was determined the play was offside, keeping the door open for the Ducks to pounce.

Sidney Crosby took it upon himself to seal the contest for the Penguins with a long empty net tally in the closing seconds.

The Penguins got a combined shutout from Jarry and Hellberg who stopped a combined 32 shots; 21 for Jarry and 11 for Hellberg.

A second straight win for the Penguins continues to build their momentum, but they remain in the basement of the Metropolitan Division and still have some climbing to do.

The Penguins have one more contest in their three-game road trip before returning home.
