The Pittsburgh Penguins have loaned John Ludvig and Alex Nedeljkovic to the AHL for conditioning.

The Pittsburgh Penguins have assigned a pair of injured players to the AHL for conditioning stints prior to their eligibility to return.

It was announced that the Penguins have loaned goalie Alex Nedeljkovic and rookie defenseman John Ludvig to the Wilkes-Barre/Scranton Penguins for conditioning purposes.

Head coach Mike Sullivan stated previously that Ludvig would be heading to WBS for conditioning, but Nedeljkovic is a new development.

In Nedeljkovic’s absence, Magnus Hellberg has served as the Penguins backup netminder and he’s played respectably well.

In three appearances, Hellberg has a 1-0-0 record with a .922 save percentage.

Ludvig suffered a concussion in his NHL debut and hasn’t returned to the ice since.

Both Nedeljkovic and Ludvig are on long-term injured reserve and are eligible to return against the Vegas Golden Knights.

Both players have also joined the team at practices in full capacities.
