    Brian Burke was president of hockey operations with the Pittsburgh Penguins for a little over two seasons.

    Brian Burke may not have had the greatest run as president of hockey operations with the Pittsburgh Penguins, but his career has earned him a spot among legends.

    United States Hockey announced that the former Penguins president will be part of their 2023 class of American Hockey Hall of Fame inductees.

    Among those part of the 2023 class with Burke is Dustin Brown, Katie King-Crowley, Jamie Langenbrunner, and Brian Murphy.

    Burke’s Hall of Fame career has spanned almost four decades in the NHL including a Stanley Cup victory in 2007 as general manager of the Anaheim Ducks.

    Along with the Ducks, Burke has also been the general manager of the Hartford Whalers and Vancouver Canucks; Burke has also served as the president for the Toronto Maple Leafs and Calgary Flames.

    Between front office jobs with teams around the league, Burke also worked with the NHL as an executive vice president and director of hockey operations.

    Burke worked as the Penguins president of hockey operations from February of 2021 to April of 2023.

    Currently, Burke works with the Professional Women’s Hockey League as an executive director.

    Burke is a native of Providence, Rhode Island.
