The Pittsburgh Penguins might have a few lineup changes on the horizon.
The Pittsburgh Penguins have hit the ice for practice following a day off, and they brought with them an extra face.
Injured rookie defenseman John Ludvig has returned to the ice with the NHL Penguins after a conditioning stint with the Wilkes-Barre/Scranton Penguins of the AHL.
Before the conclusion of their most recent contest against the Vegas Golden Knights, defenseman Chad Ruhwedel left the bench with an injury.
With Ludvig nearing a return to health, and Ruhwedel not present at practice, it seems likely there could be a change in the lineup.
The Penguins are set to take on the New York Rangers in a Thanksgiving-eve Metropolitan Division meeting.
Ludvig suffered a concussion in his first ever NHL game and has been on the shelf ever since.
In that one game, Ludvig recorded one shot and two hits in 5:29 of ice time.
Also absent from practice is P.O. Joseph and Rickard Rakell, Byran Rust, and Matt Nieto.
Vinnie Hinostroza also returned after missing the game against the Golden Knights.
Rust was also on the ice briefly prior to the start of practice before departing.
