Mark Pysyk will remain within the Pittsburgh Penguins organization, signing a PTO with the AHL squad.
Mark Pysyk played in one preseason game with the Pittsburgh Penguins before being taken out of the lineup with a lower-body injury.
As he recovers, however, it seems that Pysyk will stay within the Penguins organization, signing a professional tryout with the Wilkes-Barre/Scranton Penguins.
After missing the entire 2022-23 season recovering from an Achilles injury, Pysyk signed a professional tryout contract with the NHL squad in hopes to reclaim a role in the league.
At first glance, it seemed Pysyk had a great chance of making the team as a third-pairing right-shot defenseman.
His most recent injury put him on the shelf ‘longer-term,’ but he had recently started skating on his own.
Pysyk joins a WBS team that has gotten off to a good start to their season, and a future in the NHL is still possible for the defender.
It isn’t clear when Pysyk will play games again, but it could be soon with this transaction.
