    Penguins Recall Forward Radim Zohorna

The Pittsburgh Penguins are switching things up four games into the season.

The Pittsburgh Penguins have started making lineup changes and Jansen Harkins is the main reason why.

The Pittsburgh Penguins have recalled forward Radim Zohorna from the Wilkes-Barre Scranton Penguins of the AHL. The 6'6" winger will likely make his 2023-24 season debut tomorrow night against the St. Louis Blues.

Zohorna was surprisingly sent to the AHL to begin the season after putting together an impressive training camp with the Penguins. The Penguins instead decided to claim defenseman John Ludvig from the Florida Panthers and started the season with 12 forwards on the NHL roster.

However, through four games, it was evident that forward Jansen Harkins was not ready for the opportunity to play at the NHL level with the Penguins. Harkins was placed on and subsequently cleared from waivers today and was reassigned to the AHL.

The 27-year-old rejoined the Penguins this summer after splitting last season with the Calgary Flames and Toronto Maple Leafs organizations. Zohorna has scored 11 points (5G-6A) in 35 career games at the NHL level.

Zohorna will join the Penguins in St. Louis and should bring more of an offensive punch to the bottom-six. He'll likely line up next to Lars Eller and Drew O'Connor on the Penguins' third line.

The Penguins continue to search for a working combination in the bottom six.
