The Pittsburgh Penguins have made multiple last second lineup changes.
PITTSBURGH -- The Pittsburgh Penguins are set for a faceoff against the New York Rangers, but not before a few last-second lineup changes. With the announcement of the official lineup, multiple Penguins have been scratched from the lineup.
Tristan Jarry was slated to start in goal, but an illness has forced him to backup Alex Nedeljkovic. This will be Nedeljkovic’s fifth straight start.
Defenseman Johnnie Ludvig has also been scratched due to an illness. Ryan Shea will slot in as the third-pairing defenseman in Ludvig’s place.
It seems like something is going around the Penguins’ locker room as forward Michael Bunting was unable to finish the contest against the Columbus Blue Jackets.
Beyond illness, head coach Mike Sullivan healthy scratched Sam Poulin from the lineup. Emil Bemstrom will return to the Penguins lineup in Poulin’s place.
Bemstrom will slot in as the Penguins’ fourth-line winger, moving Jeff Carter to center.
