Sidney Crosby's one goal in the Pittsburgh Penguins' victory notched multiple milestones.

The Pittsburgh Penguins collected two huge points with their win over the Colorado Avalanche, but there were also a couple of milestones reached.

Sidney Crosby’s goal in the second period not only opened the scoring for the Penguins, but it was the captains 30^th of the season.

The 2022-23 season is now the 11^th time Crosby has scored 30 or more goals in a year, tying him with Mario Lemieux for the franchise record in 30-goal seasons.

Lemieux set the standard for just about every Penguins’ offensive category, and over his 18-year career, Crosby has been knocking those record down.

While Crosby might not reach the points or goals total set by Lemieux, he’s going to put up a good race in the final years of his career.

There have been no signs of Crosby slowing down and that’s evident as his goal against the Avalanche notched more than just a franchise number.

With Crosby’s 30^th goal at the age of 35, he became the first player in NHL history to score 30 or more goals at the age of 18 and 35+.

Maybe it’s just dumb luck that Crosby happened the be an NHL player at the age of 18, but it’s a record no one else has ever hit.

In Crosby’s rookie season, he scored 39 goals and totaled 102 points, a Penguins franchise record for points by a rookie.

Now, at 35-years-old, through 71 games of the 2022-23 season, Crosby has hit the 30-goal plateau and has time to add to the total.
