Kevin Constantine is a former Pittsburgh Penguins head coach who has been fired from his role in the WHL.

Earlier in the week, the Western Hockey League indefinitely suspended former Pittsburgh Penguins head coach Kevin Constantine.

The league punished the former Penguins coach following an investigation opened against him using derogatory and discriminating language.

It didn’t take long for the team that Constantine was coaching to step in with their own punishment, as well, as the Wenatchee Wild have fired him from his position.

According to the Wild, the move is effective immediately and comes following the conclusion of an independent investigation.

This is the Wild’s first season after relocating and formerly being known as the Winnipeg Ice; Constantine was the first coach of the Wild.

An initial suspension and investigation began on September 24 when he was reported for violating the WHL’s code of conduct policies.

Constantine was the coach of the Penguins from 1997 to 1999 and reached the playoffs in two seasons.
