The Pittsburgh Penguins might be dealing with new injuries to their blue line.

With injuries possibly piling on the Pittsburgh Penguins blue line, they have recalled Mark Friedman on an emergency basis.

To make room on the team, the Penguins have also placed forward Nick Bonino on long-term injured reserve.

Bonino was placed on LTIR with a retroactive date of March 9 due to a lacerated kidney.

As for the defense, Jeff Petry was an early exit in two straight games and might be joining Dmitry Kulikov on the shelf.

Kulikov was placed on LTIR with a lower-body injury and is not eligible for a return until early April.

Following leaving the game against the New York Rangers early, Petry was not present at the following days practice.

Head coach Mike Sullivan stated that Petry was still being evaluated for his injury.

Friedman has been recalled on a couple of occasions this season, but hasn’t gotten much playing time.

In 11 games, Friedman has only recorded a single goal and averaged 15:27 of ice time.
