The Pittsburgh Penguins take on the New York Rangers for the third time in six days.

The Pittsburgh Penguins are back in action with another matchup against their divisional foes, the New York Rangers. This will be the teams' third meeting in less than a week, with each team winning one of the previous matchups. The rubber match should be a fantastic matchup, and here's what to watch for.

    1. Can the Penguins Take the Season Series?

The Penguins are currently up in the season series versus the Rangers, with a record of 2-1-0. With the devastating playoff loss to the Rangers last season, it would be a huge step for the Penguins to earn a regular season series victory over their rivals. The Pens played a dud of a game in their most recent matchup against the Rangers, and they'll need to bring more in all zones of the ice if they want to secure their third win of the season against New York.

    2. The Bread Man Looking to Deliver

The Penguins have done a great job at shutting down some of the biggest offensive weapons of the Rangers this season. Their biggest superstar, Artemi Panarin, has been the biggest example of this. In three games so far, Panarin has been held to just a lone assist. The Penguins have found a way to neutralize the Bread Man in their first three matchups, and they'll need to do it for a fourth time if they want to leave the Garden with a victory.

    3. Penguins Goaltending Continues to Disappoint

The only consistency with the Penguins this season is their inconsistency. Currently, the biggest problem for Pittsburgh is their goaltending, or lack thereof. Starter Tristan Jarry has looked like a shell of himself since returning from injury. Rumors swirl about how healthy Jarry is, and his performance fails to silence the skeptics. He has been pulled twice in his last five games, with only one win in that time span.

Thankfully Casey DeSmith has returned from his terrible stretch to supply adequate goaltending while Jarry struggles. Will the Pens get the all-star version of Jarry in this matchup or will DeSmith come on in relief again?

The Penguins and Rangers face-off at 8:00 p.m. at Madison Square Garden.
