Kyle Dubas has carried out his first orders of business with the Pittsburgh Penguins.
The transition period of the Pittsburgh Penguins’ front office continues as new president of hockey operation Kyle Dubas is starting to lay the ground work for the team.
According to Frank Seravalli of Daily Faceoff, Dubas and the Penguins fired three indivisuals from their positions.
Director of hockey strategy Alec Schall, senior vice president of sports science Teena Murray, and director of pro scouting Kerry Huffman were all fired on Thursday.
Each of those three were hired by former general manager Ron Hextall.
During the organization’s transition from Hextall to Dubas, Schall was part of the group that took on managerial duties.
The only hockey operation maneuver of note during that time was the signing of Alex Nylander to a one-year contract extension.
No hires have been made to replace the recently departed.
