Former Pittsburgh Penguins president of hockey operations Brian Burke will head back to the TV studio rather than an NHL front office.

While the Pittsburgh Penguins are nearing the end of their search for a new front office staff, what have the recently departed gentlemen been up to?

Former Penguins general manager Ron Hextall might struggle to find work in an NHL front office but his name does keep getting tossed around for the Toronto Maple Leafs.

Former president of hockey operations Brian Burke, however, is back to a role he’s had before.

The NHL Network announced that Burke and former Anaheim Ducks coach Dallas Eakins will join their panel for the remainder of the 2023 Playoffs.

Prior to being hired by the Penguins, Burke worked as an analyst with SportsNet in Canada for a few years.

This isn’t a new role for Burke, and he was expected to return to TV when the Penguins relieved him and Hextall of their duties.

Burke will make his return to TV on Wednesday ahead of Game 4 between the Florida Panthers and Carolina Hurricanes.
