Brayden Yager impressed in his first training camp with the Pittsburgh Penguins.
After a solid few weeks with the Pittsburgh Penguins organization, top forward prospect Bryaden Yager has been assigned to his junior team, the Moose Jaw Warriors of the Western Hockey League.
The 2023 first-round pick of the Penguins really impressed during his first training camp with the team, but it was expected he would be sent back to the WHL before their season began.
Yager played in all three games of the annual Prospect Challenge in Buffalo and a pair of preseason contests.
In the prospect challenge, Yager regularly looked like one of the best players on the ice; he showed flashes of his shooting ability and helped lead the Penguins prospects to a pair of victories.
While taking reps with the Penguins during the preseason, Yager still looked right at home; it’s clear there is still some growing to do, but he was confident on the ice playing alongside guys with NHL experience.
Yager didn’t record any points of note during the exhibition games, but he did pot a shootout goal in the preseason opener.
The future is extremely bright for Yager and the Penguins are especially excited to have him a part of the future.
Penguins fans will see him at the NHL level soon enough, especially if he can continue his upward trend.
