There is no doubting that the Pittsburgh Penguins have revamped their depth.

There is no doubting that the Pittsburgh Penguins have revamped their depth.

Kyle Dubas has not taken his foot off the gas when it comes to acquiring depth for the Pittsburgh Penguins lineup.

The trend of depth additions continues as the Penguins announce the signing of forward Andreas Johnsson to a one-year contract.

The deal for Johnsson will earn him $800,000 in at the NHL level.

Johnsson is a 28-year-old and is coming off of a season where he played 13 total games with only three assists.

There is familiarity, however, between Dubas and Johnsson as Johnsson played and produced pretty well with the Toronto Maple Leafs from 2017 to 2020.

In 125 games with the Maple Leafs, Johnsson scored 67 points (30G-37A) including a 43-point season in 2018-19.

Through 259 career games at the NHL level, Johnsson has recorded 48 goals and 68 assists and 116 total points.
