The Pittsburgh Penguins nearly overcame a 2-0 deficit to the Nashville Predators.
For the second-straight game, the Pittsburgh Penguins fell behind early, allowing two goals in the first period. And for the second-straight game, they erased that early deficit.
The Penguins clawed back from a 2-0 deficit in Nashville to earn a point in the standings despite falling 3-2 in overtime.

Three Stars
3. Tristan Jarry
The script was very similar to Saturday's game for Tristan Jarry. Allow two early goals and then proceed to slam the door for most of the evening following that. Jarry may be the only reason the Penguins escaped Nashville with a point in the standings, making several key saves late in the third period.
He was beat cleanly on the game-winner by Forsberg, but not without some dispute from the Penguins who believed there was interference earlier in the play on Ryan O'Reilly that sprung Forsberg to begin with.
Despite the loss, Jarry saved 23 of 26 shots and continues to quietly string together good performances.
2. John Ludvig
If every NHL player has a game that puts them on the radar of the rest of the league, last night was John Ludvig's. Ludvig continued to show his penchant for physical play when he ran over Dante Fabbro in the first period.
It continued later in the game when Ludvig stood up for teammate Evgeni Malkin and dropped the gloves with the much larger Michael McCarron. It was a nice bonus that he got the better end of the fight. Ludvig closed out his night with his first career point with his assist on the game-tying goal in the third period.
1. Michael McCarron
McCarron was all over this one for the Predators. The Penguins did a good job at limiting the top scorers for Nashville throughout the game, but McCarron made up for it with two early goals.
Final Thoughts
With Rust back in the lineup it's time to send Jansen Harkins back to the AHL. Harkins has played in six games for the Penguins this season and has yet to demonstrate why he deserves a lineup spot over any of the other players waiting for an opportunity.
He is always seemingly a step slow at this level and is unable to create in the offensive zone. Vinnie Hinostroza and Alex Nylander were healthy scratches in Nashville and I would imagine one of them gets a shot in Harkins' position on Thursday in Tampa Bay.
