James Guillory-USA TODAY Sports - William Eklund's Confidence Is Growing

While the scoring hasn't been there for William Eklund and the San Jose Sharks, the winger just played the best two games of his young NHL career.

Eklund has had five shots on goal in his last two games but has continually gotten into the slot to create offensive chances.

"I feel like I've found my game a little bit," Eklund said. "It is just getting better and better."

Eklund has created 25 scoring chances in the last two games, with nine considered high danger, per Natural Stat Trick.

As for the reason for the uptick in play:

"I feel like I am trying to hold on to the puck a little longer," Eklund explained. "I just try to play hockey, and when I'm having fun, I play my game, which is attacking the net."

Despite the limited time with Eklund, centerman Mikael Granlund sees the high potential the young forward brings.

"He's a really good player, and I feel like he's growing every single day. He's going to be a really good player in this league," Granlund said. "The way he skates, the way he can hold on to pucks and make plays. He's going to be a really, really good player."

Granlund and Eklund were on the same line during training camp, and some chemistry was quickly built. Now that Granlund is back to 100% health, he and Eklund can continue the upward chemistry trend.

"It's been fun to play with him, and hopefully I can help him," Granlund said. "Getting his confidence up there. "He works his butt off every single night. I'm glad I could be on the same line with him."

Eklund and Granlund will be on the same line again tonight against the Vancouver Canucks.
