San Jose Sharks head coach David Quinn discussed trust inside the locker room.

For the San Jose Sharks to win a game this season, the players in the room must trust each other.
Trusting a teammate goes further than just knowing they are a good player. Trust is knowing that each player on the ice will do their job. Sharks players have been so worried about if a linemate will do something that they lose sight of their job.
Quinn spoke to the media before tonight's matchup against the Carolina Hurricanes and was blunt in saying what needs to happen to get out of the slump.
"We got to will our way out of this, and the only thing that every individual can do in there is take care of themselves," Quinn said. "That's what we need tonight, and everybody to be better and just do their job. Do it with more conviction, and all of a sudden, you start trusting each other a little bit more."
The Sharks have spent almost entire periods in their defensive zone this season. Part of the reason is because guys are not trusting each other to do the right thing.
"Unfortunately, what's happened and what has crept in with us is guys are hesitant to do what they're supposed to do because they're not sure someone else is going to do what they should be doing," Quinn explained.
A perfect example is last night's game against the Tampa Bay Lightning. In the 6-0 loss, San Jose could not get the puck out with a clean breakout.
"We've got to get back to playing with a certain attitude and playing with conviction. [We have to] do what's supposed to be done through all three zones," Quinn said.
The San Jose Sharks will still struggle this season, but the roster will be able to compete in some games. Unfortunately for David Quinn, that hasn't happened across an entire 60-minute game.
