The Tampa Bay Lightning dominated the San Jose Sharks, winning 6-0 on Thursday night.
It felt like the Sharks were playing a man down the entire night. San Jose could not get the puck out of the zone and create offense.
Tampa Bay got goals from six different players. Brayden Point, Mikey Essymont, Steven Stamkos, Brandon Hagel, Nick Paul, and Luke Glendening scored for the Lightning. Jonas Johansson made 31 saves for his second straight shutout.
Mackenzie Blackwood started the game for the Sharks but was pulled after the fifth goal. Blackwood made 16 saves. Kaapo Kahkonen made nine saves in relief.
San Jose was dominated early and often and was outshot 31-23 for the game.

Tampa Bay was allowed all the time and space they wanted in the offensive zone. Even the broadcast noticed.
Sharks head coach David Quinn said Kahkonen would be the starting netminder against the Carolina Hurricanes tomorrow night. That may change, given the relief appearance.
