We’re just 76 days away from the San Jose Sharks kicking off their season against the Vegas Golden Knights.

Only two players in franchise history have worn the number 76. The first was Eriah Hayes from 2013 to 2015, and most recently, Jonathan Dahlén in 2022.

Starting with Hayes, the former Shark only played in parts of two seasons with the organization. His first year was in 2013-14, where he dressed in just 15 games and scored one goal. That lone goal was the only NHL point he ever recorded. The next season, he only played in four games. Unfortunately, his career in the NHL didn’t last long, but he’ll always be able to say he played in 19 NHL games.

Next up, Dahlén came over from Sweden to play with the Sharks and, like Hayes, his NHL career only lasted one season. He played 61 games in 2021-22 and posted 12 goals and 10 assists for 22 points. After that year, he returned to Sweden and hasn’t been back since.

As we slowly inch toward the start of the season, the jersey number countdown will continue. Next up, my colleague William Espy will look at #75.
