Tomas Hertl returned to the San Jose Sharks lineup on Thursday night.

Hertl did not participate in morning skate but was on the ice for warmups. Things got even more confusing. As the team did its usual line rushes, Hertl did not rotate through.

After warmups ended, the official NHL Media roster report showed Kevin Labanc as a scratch and Hertl was active.

San Jose also debuted a different uniform combination. They wore traditional road white jerseys but sported the home teal helmet.

The NHL recently allowed all teams to wear any helmet with any jersey as long as the color isn't the same as the opposing team.
