After an incredible rookie season, San Jose Sharks forward Macklin Celebrini has been nominated for the Calder Trophy, awarded to the best rookie of the season. He joins Montreal Canadiens' Lane Hutson and Calgary Flames' Dustin Wolf as the three nominees for the award, as announced before the draft lottery on Monday (May. 5).
Celebrini, who is 18 years old and was selected first overall by the Sharks in the 2024 NHL Entry Draft, scored 25 goals and added 38 assists for 63 points through 70 games. He also finished the season with a +/- of -31.
