Just days after being named the American Hockey League's MVP, Andrew Poturalski has found himself in the rumor mill with speculation growing that he could be headed to the Kontinental Hockey League (KHL) and joining Avangard Omsk.

In the translation, they mention that Poturalski will terminate his deal with the Sharks' organization and will be signing in Russia.

Poturalski, who is 31 years old, scored 30 goals and added 43 assists for 73 points through 59 games this season in the AHL, and had one assist through three games with the Sharks.

Throughout his AHL career, he has scored 161 goals and added 332 assists for 493 points, which comes out to a 0.94 points-per-game average. He has only appeared in nine NHL games, notching three points.

While there hasn't been any further indication of whether he is looking to head overseas next season, it's interesting that he has been connected to a KHL team before the Barracuda's AHL playoff run has completed.

The Barracuda defeated the Ontario Reign in their first-round matchup in a best-of-three series, and now will be facing off against the Colorado Eagles in the second round.
