San Jose Sharks standout rookie Macklin Celebrini suffered a lower-body injury against the Ottawa Senators on Saturday.
The 2024 NHL Draft No. 1 pick did not practice in Toronto on Sunday and is a game-time decision against the Toronto Maple Leafs on Monday.
It is unclear when the star rookie's injury occurred. Celebrini did not miss a shift and played 19:25 in the game. This season, Celebrini has averaged 20:45 minutes a night.
Head coach Ryan Warsofsky doesn't think the injury is serious.
Celebrini missed 12 games earlier in the season after suffering a lower-body injury in the first game of the season against the St. Louis Blues.
The 18-year-old had two assists on Saturday to give him 18 goals and 26 assists for 44 points this season. He's the likely favorite for the Calder Trophy if he stays healthy.
