San Jose Sharks top prospect Will Smith scored four goals as Boston College beat Boston University 6-2 to win the Hockey East Championship.

Smith came into the game leading the NCAA in points with 62 (19 goals, 43 assists). He then put his team on his back by scoring four goals and adding another assist.

Smith tied and now passed Ken Hodge for the most points by a freshman in BC history.

Boston College is the No. 1 NCAA-ranked team and heads into the national tournament as the convincing top seed. Smith finishes his freshman season with 67 points (23 goals, 44 assists).

Smith has already won one championship this season and helped lead Team USA to a gold medal at the 2024 World Juniors.

Projected 2024 No. 1 overall pick, Macklin Celebrini, scored one goal in the game.

Smith and Celebrini are in the top ten finalists for the NCAA's Hobey Baker Award and have been named to many Hockey East regular season awards.

The national tournament gets underway on March 28th.
