Thrun started the season in the NHL but was sent down after the first two games. In those two games, he had two assists.

Thrun has played 18 games with the AHL's San Jose Barracuda and has six points (1 goal, 5 assists).

Matt Benning hasn't played the last two games but was not placed on IR. San Jose placed Nikolai Knyzhov on waivers last week. He eventually cleared and was sent down to the AHL.

San Jose has been carrying 22 skaters, so they have an open spot. Luke Kunin, Ryan Carpenter, Oskar Lindblom, and Ty Emberson are on IR.

San Jose will face the Vegas Golden Knights tomorrow at 7 p.m. PST. Sharks head coach David Quinn is meeting with the media today at 4 p.m. and should provide more clarity on the move then.
