Former San Jose Sharks forward Noah Gregor has signed a professional tryout with the defending Stanley Cup champion Florida Panthers.
Gregor was a fourth-round draft pick by the Sharks during the 2016 NHL Draft and made his professional debut during the 2019-20 season. During that initial stint with the Sharks, Gregor played 178 games over the course of four seasons and recorded 51 points during that time frame.
Gregor signed a one-year contract with the Toronto Maple Leafs ahead of the 2023-24 season. With the Maple Leafs, he played 63 games and registered 12 points before once again hitting the open market. He remained in Ontario for the start of the 2024-25 season, signing with the Ottawa Senators. Nine months after signing his deal with the Senators, he was traded back to the Sharks in a deal that saw Fabian Zetterlund heading to Canada’s capital.
During his reunion with the Sharks, Gregor recorded a single point in 12 games. Following the season, general manager Mike Grier opted not to extend a qualifying offer to Gregor, and he once again became an unrestricted free agent. Two months after entering free agency, it seems he may have found his new home if he’s able to impress the Panthers.
