After some confusion about where former San Jose Sharks winger Filip Zadina would end up for the 2024-25 season, the 24-year-old has signed in Switzerland with HC Davos.

After some confusion about where former San Jose Sharks winger Filip Zadina would end up for the 2024-25 season, the 24-year-old has signed in Switzerland with HC Davos.

Last week, reports surfaced that the former first-round pick signed a professional tryout with the Buffalo Sabres. Kevin Weekes first reported that Zadina was in discussions with three teams, but the three were unclear.

THN confirmed with Zadina's agent that the report of him signing a PTO with Buffalo was false and that the report was fabricated.

HC Davos poked fun at Weekes' report with a video on their social media to help with the announcement.

The 2018 sixth-overall pick's NHL career might be over despite the hype surrounding him following his draft year. The former Detroit Red Wing had a bumpy ending at his first stop and couldn't find the offensive upside he was trying to recover when he signed with San Jose last summer.

HC Davos says Zadina signed a two-year contract with the club.

"Despite his young age, Filip brings a lot of experience and offensive qualities. He is still very young and has not yet reached his full potential. Filip will be one of seven foreign players in the squad," HC Davos GM Jan Alston said in a statement. "This will give the coaching staff more options to put the best team on the ice in every game."
