The San Jose Sharks lost to the Nashville Predators 5-1 for their fifth straight loss on Thursday night.
Although San Jose's shot count was the highest in any game this season, Juese Saros was terrific.
Tommy Novak scored twice for Nashville. Samuel Fagemo, Kiefer Sherwood, and Luke Evangelista also scored for Nashville. Saros made 31 saves.
Ty Emberson made his NHL debut, Tomas Hertl Scored his first goal of the season, and Mackenzie Blackwood made 27 saves.
Novak's goal came at 2:06 of the second period, and just 12 seconds later, the Sharks had another defensive breakdown that led to Sherwood's goal.
The Sharks changed the powerplay units with Kyle Burroughs playing on the point of the first PP unit. He looked solid on the man advantage, but ultimately, the Sharks couldn't score.
There were some questions on how the forwards were used regarding time on ice.
Filip Zadina played just 3:23 in the first period. He was the least-used player for head coach David Quinn.
Vlasic is coming off one of his worst games in his career last Thursday. Seeing even less ice time for him with San Jose dressing seven defensemen isn't surprising. Vlasic played just 6:09 and didn't play the entire third period.
San Jose's next game comes on Tuesday against the Florida Panthers. San Jose remains the last team in the NHL to win a game.
