Joe Camporeale-USA TODAY Sports - Pregame Preview #33: Sharks Seeking Revenge Against Coyotes

The San Jose Sharks (9-20-3) host the Arizona Coyotes (16-13-2) tonight, hoping to get revenge after last Friday's 1-0 loss.

San Jose looked like they had tied the game twice, but each goal was challenged and reversed.

Jan Rutta and Calen Addison missed the Sharks game on Tuesday. Rutta and Addison participated in an optional morning skate. Rutta was on the ice significantly longer than Addison.

"I thought it was a little bit of a sluggish game for us from start to finish," Sharks coach David Quinn said. "There was an uptick in our play in the third period, but it was just an okay game in a lot of areas, and okay isn't gonna cut it in this league."

San Jose held an optional morning skate, so there were no line rushes. Quinn did confirm that Mackenzie Blackwood will start in goal.

Barabanov was skating with Logan Couture and Ryan Carpenter at practice yesterday, but Quinn said he is in the lineup today. Filip Zadina is getting a boost and will play with Tomas Hertl and William Eklund.

"Barabanov was doing a pretty good job with them, too," Quinn said. "Just moving lines around a little bit just because we've gotten a little bit dry [at] five on five. We are taking a look at some different combinations right now."

    Sharks projected lines:

    Eklund-Hertl-Zadina
    Duclair-Granlund-Zetterlund
    Hoffman-Kunin-Bailey
    Barabanov-Studnicka-Labanc

    Ferraro-Burroughs
    Okhotiuk-Rutta
    Thrun-Addison

    Blackwood
    Kahkonen

Puck drop is at 7:30 p.m. PST and can be seen on ESPN+/Hulu or the Sharks Audio Network.
