The San Jose Sharks will head into Raleigh to face the Carolina Hurricanes tonight.

After last night's horrific 6-0 loss, the San Jose Sharks (0-6-1) will try and respond against the Carolina Hurricanes (4-4-0) tonight.
This will be the second time this season these teams square off. Carolina won the first matchup 6-3. The Three goals San Jose scored were the most in any game this season.
Sharks head coach David Quinn said that Kaapo Kahkonen is expected to start tonight despite entering last night's game in relief.
Ryan Carpenter was recalled from the AHL in response to Alexander Barabanov going on IR and is in the lineup tonight. As for other lineup changes, DQ said that the 18 skaters tonight have not been finalized.
"I liked him. I liked his professionalism. I liked his grit. His smarts. [He] gives us a little bit of size," Quinn said about Carpenter's training camp.
He did point out that he liked what winger Fabian Zetterlund did on a line with Tomas Hertl and Anthony Duclair.
Marc-Edouard Vlasic has been a healthy scratch for the past two games and could return to the lineup tonight.
"A little bit quicker, a little bit faster, a little bit stronger. That's it." Quinn said about what Vlasic needs to do.
Sharks projected lines:
Zetterlund-Hertl-Duclair
Eklund-Peterson-Labanc
Zadina-Sturm-Hoffman
Smith-Carpenter-Kunin
Ferraro-Rutta
Knyzhov-Burroughs
Vlasic-Benning
Kahkonen
Blackwood
The Hurricanes are getting a big piece back in their lineup tonight as Andrei Svechnikov will make his season debut. Svechnikov tore his ACL last season and missed the entire Hurricanes playoff run.
Puck drop is at 4 p.m. PST and can be seen on NBC Sports California or the Sharks Audio Network.
