The San Jose Sharks (0-7-1) finish their five-game road trip against the Washington Capitals on Sunday afternoon (3-3-1).
San Jose will be off for three days following today's game and hopes to walk away with their first win of the season.
Head coach David Quinn told THN that Mackenzie Blackwood will start in goal, and Matt Benning will return to the lineup. Benning was initially considered a healthy scratch last game, but DQ said he was dealing with something, and it was a chance to get him some rest.
Mikael Granlund is expected to return to the lineup tonight, but Quinn didn't confirm it this morning.
"That's expected, but we'll know by game time," Quinn said.
Sharks projected lines:
Zetterlund-Hertl-Duclair
Eklund-Granlund-Hoffman
Zadina-Sturm-Labanc
Smith-Carpenter-Kunin
Ferraro-Burroughs
Knyzhov-Rutta
Vlasic-Benning
Blackwood
Kahkonen
"I don't want to discount what Kaapo did the other night," Quinn said about finding a No. 1 goalie. "He played a hell of a game. Maybe [Blackwood] is a little bit ahead of him just because he's played a little bit more, and he had that great start. I feel really good about Kaapo."
Tonight's official lineups will be seen around 1:30 p.m. PST. Puck drop is at 2 p.m. PST and can be viewed on NBC Sports California or the Sharks Audio Network.
