A live game thread for the San Jose Sharks' second preseason game as they face the Anaheim Ducks.

The San Jose Sharks take on the Anaheim Ducks in their second preseason game.

Brandon Coe, Gannon Laroque, and Mikael Granlund are listed on the game roster but will be scratched.

Granlund was supposed to be in the lineup but did not take warm-ups. Head Coach David Quinn will provide an update after the game.

MacKenzie Blackwood is the starting goalie for San Jose. This will be his unofficial debut for the San Jose Sharks.

Lines for San Jose:

FIRST PERIOD:

7:26: Nico Sturm turns the puck over at the offensive blue line. Sam Carrick finds Brett Leason on a two-on-one for a goal. Jacob Perreault earned a secondary assist. 1-0 Ducks.

8:08: Ducks defenseman Olen Zellweger shows tremendous patience at the point before firing a seeing-eye shot into the net. Ilya Lyubshkin and Carrick assist on the play. 2-0 Ducks.

12:28: Andrew Agozzino beats Blackwood on the powerplay. The puck took a weird bounce off the backboards right back in front. Zellweger and Pavol Regenda get assists. 3-0 Ducks.

A rough period for Team Teal. The Ducks dominated puck possession throughout the frame. Blackwood wasn't sharp either but faced a lot of high-quality chances.

SECOND PERIOD:

11:23: William Eklund scores a powerplay goal on a one-timer. Shakir Mukhamadullin and Kevin Labanc assist on the play. 3-1 Ducks.

Although it was a better period for San Jose, they still trail the Ducks 3-1. San Jose could generate chances on the man advantage but not much else.

David Quinn seemed to be tinkering with the lines as well.

THIRD PERIOD:

3:23: Marc-Edouard Vlasic beats Stalock to the blocker side on a two-on-one rush. Nico Sturm earns an assist.

19:51: Carrick scores into the empty net to seal it for the Ducks.

The San Jose Sharks fell to the Anaheim Ducks 4-2.
