Two San Jose Sharks defensemen are starting to be named in trade rumors as the NHL's Trade Deadline approaches.
According to David Pagnotta, Sharks defensemen Mario Ferraro and Cody Ceci are drawing trade interest around the NHL.
"During Saturday's edition of "The Latest" on TFP, David Pagnotta indicated that both Ceci and Ferraro have attracted interest from other clubs, and their names are likely to appear more and more in trade chatter in the weeks leading up to the deadline," The Fourth Period wrote.
While Pagnotta hasn't said if any team has reached out or had discussions with the San Jose Sharks about Ferraro or Ceci, he lists many teams in the market for an upgrade to their respective blue lines.
"Several teams are looking to bolster their blueline and add a defenceman this season, including the Edmonton Oilers, Dallas Stars, Tampa Bay Lightning, Vancouver Canucks, and Florida Panthers, and could approach the Sharks about either Ceci or Ferraro," TFP writes.
Neither Ferraro nor Ceci is unfamiliar with trade rumors. Both players have been the subject of rumors throughout their careers, including Ferraro last season.
This is a report and has yet to be confirmed by any additional sources.
