The San Jose Sharks’ 2025-26 opening night roster is officially set. All rosters had to be submitted to the NHL before yesterday’s 5:00 p.m. EST deadline.

Today, the Sharks announced the 23 players who will start the season with the team, including a few new faces making the jump to the NHL.

    Forwards (13):

Macklin Celebrini, Ty Dellandrea, William Eklund, Adam Gaudette, Barclay Goodrow, Collin Graf, Philipp Kurashev, Michael Misa, Ryan Reaves, Jeff Skinner, Will Smith, Tyler Toffoli, Alexander Wennberg

    Defense (8):

Vincent Desharnais, Sam Dickinson, Mario Ferraro, John Klingberg, Nick Leddy, Timothy Liljegren, Shakir Mukhamadullin, Dmitry Orlov

    Goaltenders (2):

    Yaroslav Askarov, Alex Nedeljkovic

    Injured Non-Roster (4):

Egor Afanasyev, Lucas Carlsson, Carey Price, Jack Thompson

It is official, the Sharks’ first-round pick from the 2025 NHL Draft, Michael Misa, has made the opening night roster. He is expected to be in the Calder Trophy conversation alongside Matthew Schaefer of the New York Islanders and Ivan Demidov of the Montreal Canadiens.

Sam Dickinson also cracked the roster and will likely be paired with a veteran defenseman who can help guide him through his first NHL season. He is another rookie to watch, though he might fall just short in the Calder race.

There are going to be a lot of moving parts with this roster. By the trade deadline, players like Skinner, Klingberg, Leddy, and possibly even Goodrow could be shipped to contenders. That is part of why the Sharks traded for the contracts of Carey Price and Ryan Ellis, to offset the cap space that will eventually open up.

The Sharks begin their season Thursday against the Vegas Golden Knights at 7:00 p.m. PT, 10:00 p.m. EST.
