The Sharks came into the night with the best odds of landing the top pick at 18.5%, under the new lottery rules, the New York Islanders had the ball fall in their favour.

Unfortunately, the Sharks didn't win the 2025 NHL draft lottery but they only fell one spot because the Utah Hockey Club could only move up 10 spots. Which means the Sharks will be picking second in the NHL Draft.
