Lifelong fan and Gilroy Native Alan Hoshida has been named the San Jose Sharks pre- and postgame TV host for NBC Sports.
Hoshida has featured on Sharks broadcasts before, including last season. Hoshida replaces long-time host Brodie Brazil, who was part of the network covering Sharks and Oakland A's games for over 15 years.
According to NBC Sports' press release, Hoshida has been on television for 13 years. He has experience as a sports reporter at KHON-TV in Honolulu. The Gilroy native also worked in production positions with NBC Sports Bay Area and California beginning in 2012.
The lifelong Sharks fan will bring a fresh voice to the pre-and postgame shows, while Randy Hahn and Drew Remenda will partner on the play-by-play side for all regular season games broadcast on NBC Sports California.
Hoshida's co-hosts will rotate throughout the season. Ted Ramey, Nick Nollenberger, and Mark Smith are the main three options that will be paried with Hoshida.
Former Sharks defenseman Dan Boyle will also return to some shows this season, and Jamal Mayers will contribute to select Sharks games.
