San Jose Sharks head coach Ryan Warsofsky gave an update on injured forwards Nikolai Kovalenko and Klim Kostin on Thursday.
Kovalenko will miss his fourth straight game tonight against the Columbus Blue Jackets as he deals with an upper-body injury. Kovalenko suffered the injury during the Sharks 4-2 loss to the Vegas Golden Knights on Jan. 7.
Kostin will miss his third straight game as he deals with a lower-body injury. Kostin suffered the injury in the first period against the Utah Hockey Club on Jan. 10.
"I'd say Kostin is further away from Kovalenko. We'll see how the next 24 hours go," Warsofsky said.
The 24 hours that Warsofsky references is about whether the duo will join the team on their current road trip. Tonight is game two of five of the road trip.
"[Kovalenko is] still day-to-day. He skated yesterday and skated today. He'll skate tomorrow," Warsofsky said.
